June marks the official beginning of the summer season. Everything happens outdoors and curious travellers flood the city. So we thought that maybe a monthly mini-guide curated by our team would help you navigate the city and make the most of your visit. Here are some events that you may find interesting and fun.
Refugee Food Festival 18-22/6
The Refugee Food Festival is an initiative that began in Paris in June 2016. Over 1,000 people enjoyed the food prepared by refugee chefs in eleven restaurants, which opened their kitchens and changed their menus for the occasion. In Athens, from the 18th till the 22nd of June, five restaurants will open their kitchens to refugee chefs from Afghanistan, Iran, Somalia and Syria. The idea is simple: during the festival, the regular menus of our partner restaurants will be enriched with dishes created by our refugee chefs for patrons to enjoy.
The Refugee Food Festival was created by citizens who wanted to mobilise the Parisian food scene, restaurants, local authorities, private businesses and various actors. You can see the partnering restaurants here.
Don’t forget to reserve your seat.
